If I drink a little alcohol,do I need extra vitamins?
People who drink a lot of alcohol usually do not eat well ,so they are likely to have vitamin deficiencies , particularly of B vitamins. In fact, injections of B vitamins are often part of the treatment given to alcoholics
If you drink moderately , averaging two or fewer drinks a day, you are probably getting all the vitamins you need in foods. If you wish , you can take an RDA- level multivitamin for insurance. If you regularly drink more than this moderate amount you should discuss the need for supplementation with your doctor.
